Access to the Grand Lobby, Café Modern, and The Mod Shop is always gratuitous.

The Mod is closed Mondays and holidays, including New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas.
Admissions
Admission includes entrance to permanent drove exhibitions, all special and traveling exhibitions, and scheduled tours and gallery programs. The Modern is wheelchair accessible.

The Museum is free on the first Sunday of every month. Admission to the G Vestibule, Café Modern, and The Modern Shop is ever free.

The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth collects and displays international modern and gimmicky artwork in a serene concrete and glass building designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando. The collection showcases works in all media: paintings, sculptures, videos, photographs, and prints; by artists including Andy Warhol, Anselm Kiefer, Jenny Holzer, Jackson Pollock, and Martin Puryear.
The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth is the oldest fine art museum in Texas and one of the oldest museums in the western U.s.
The Mod was chartered in 1892 as the Fort Worth Public Library and Fine art Gallery, but the name and mission accept evolved over the years.

The 25 women who founded the Public Library and Fine art Gallery sought to bring a different sort of culture to the historically cattle-focused metropolis. Budgeted Tempest, 1875, by George Inness, was purchased in 1904 every bit the Museum'southward first conquering and was so still a relatively young painting. The Modern focuses on modernistic and contemporary American and European fine art including painting, sculpture, works on paper, and international contemporary photography. The permanent drove contains works by Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Jackson Pollock, Marking Rothko, Clyford Nonetheless, Robert Motherwell, Agnes Martin, Robert Rauschenberg, Philip Guston, Cindy Sherman, Andre Serrano, Hiroshi Sugimoto, William Wegman, Barbara Ess, Anselm Kiefer, Gerhard Richter, and Susan Rothenberg.
The staff is currently updating the collections catalogue. The Registrar'south files are available for research past appointment. Information on the drove may be obtained through the museum's library and on the internet.
Studio courses, College internships, High school gallery and studio workshops, Lecture series. The Modern likewise offers a summer art campsite for children.
The Modernistic's education department provides tours for Fort Worth public schools. A repeat visit program brings high schoolhouse students to the museum three to 4 times during a years time to piece of work with artists on activities related to a specific exhibition.
